“Ian joined us as a lead artist in January 2012 and took our new game, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture through to prototype in October 2012. He's a hardworking, diligent and focused artist, keen to push the boundaries of the task, hunt down solutions, optimise the workflow. He worked at the centre of a small team, including managing a junior artist - a role I think he excelled in. I'd happily recommend him to another studio - particularly in a managerial role as his ability to inspire and support other team members is as impressive as his ability as an artist, which is a rare mix. He's also a very nice bloke and very easy to work with and get along with. An asset to any team.

Dan Pinchbeck, Creative Director / Studio Head, thechineseroom

“Ian is a talented and outspoken artist, whose knowledge and experience have been a valuable contribution to our projects. He works hard at meeting or exceeding his targets, and helps others to manage the same goals. He is prepared to ask questions of the process, but at the same time ask those questions of himself, and then push very hard to resolve the problems in both everyday production, and the long term goals of the process itself. It would be a pleasure to work with Ian again sometime, mutual location permitting...”

Nick Martinelli, Visual Creative Director, Action Pants Inc.

“Ian has a sense of style and artistry. He can identify classic shapes, good color palettes and themes to create a mood within in a game world better than anyone I've seen. Ian is one of the best environmental artists around and visionary besides in terms of color choices and devices to "set the mood". He is not only a good designer, but he is a Maya wizard cranking out levels. His productivity is great and his candor is refreshing. He is fun to work with.”

Mickey Kawick, Engineering Lead, Action Pants Inc.

“I worked with Ian since the beginning of Action Pants (now Ubisoft Vancouver). He can always be relied on to put out high quality work, to work well within the limitations of developing pipelines and tool sets, and to bring a good deal of personality into the workplace.”

Richard Armer-Petrie, Studio Technical Director, Action Pants  Inc.

“Great artist with a lot of creative ideas. Fun to work with thanks to his considerate, but nevertheless passionate approach to graphics. And with his open and communicative personality he was a great help for our team, helping avoid development traps and communicating ideas.”

Oliver Reischl, senior digital artist, Rockstar Vienna  Austria.

“Ian Maude is a constant professional who dedicates himself to the project and the team he works with. during my time working along side I found him to be helpful, resourceful and always willing to put in extra effort to help out both the project and team mates.”

Lee Clark, Environment artist, Acclaim Entertainment studios, Manchester, UK.

“Ian has impressive art sensibilities and a passion for gaming. These attributes are critical for creating game environments that matter. He both led a team of artists and contributed content to an unannounced title at Rockstar Vienna. His environments were fun, innovative and built within severe technical restrictions. I would hire Ian in an instant.”

Troy Mashburn, Game Designer, Rockstar Vienna, Austria.

“I worked closely with Ian on specific racing game environments. He patiently took time to pass on his considerable wisdom in this area. Those lessons have become invaluable to me throughout my career. Ian is a perfectionist, has an eye for detail, and always creates outstanding artwork.”

Lee Walton, 3D Artist/Designer, Razorworks (Empire Interactive).
